Everyday, hundreds of social media network websites are being
launched and want to be Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin. . However,
almost all of them failed. There are many factors that contribute to it.
One of the major issues is a lack of strategy.
When planing any type of strategy, one needs to analyze one’s
competitors, and scoop out what they have and don’t have. Tsu is one of
few that has the interesting strategy. According to the website, Tsu
claims they are the only social media network out there that is sharing
ads revenue with its users. On top of that, Tsu only keeps 10% whereas
users keep the rest.
As a result of such interesting concept, within few months of the
website launched, thousands people had signed up with the website;
currently, it has over 1 million active users.
Now how do you make money using TSU?
The basic concept is quite easy:
You post a post, picture or infographic You friends or
other people viewing your stuffs that come with ads Revenue
generated by ads shared 90/10 in your favor.
In addition, TSU also has a referral program. So basically, each user
will have a unique referral link; when a new user signs up with your
referral link, he/she will be your child, you will earn certain
percentage of what your child earns. One good thing about TSU is that
you can’t sign up without a referral link. So that if a user wants to
use TSU, he or she needs to have a referral link to sign up. Therefore,
whoever promote TSU the most will likely get the most out of TSU.
Now, here is my thought:
Most social media network websites come and go. Just take Myspace as
an example; it used to be the most popular social media network out
there. Now, it is transformed into “New Myspace”, all old users’
materials were gone, such as posts, pictures, etc.
The point is TSU might be ended it up like that. You spend countless
hours doing research and posting content, in hope of one post can go
viral, and generate revenue for you. One day, TSU decides they are no
longer able to support the platform and have to shut it down. All of
your materials will be gone; all those countless hours will be wasted
for nothing. Now, the question is to you: is it really worth the risk?
Of course, just like any social media platforms, in order to make
money from them, you need to be popular or famous, so that you have a
lot of followers or “friends”. Common people like you and I, it is
better spend time to get our own websites, setup our own ads, and
promoting stuffs. At least this way, we have control over what we have,
and scale up our marketing plans.
